Howdy everyone! I didn't mean to be a fly by night poster. I just changed jobs and we've had some crazy flooding here in Iowa.
I've been dreaming a lot about tornados. I have a feeling they're not very cool in reality.
Are any of y'all softball players? I'm a die hard. We have a coed team that plays on Sunday.

Hi there Billy R! If I go outside too long, I think I will melt. You have any ideas how to beat the heat without a working ac unit?? The compressor broke and it would be better and cheaper to just replace the whole unit. Its central air, soooo, its a mighty big pickle I am in. I don't know what to do if it is this bad this early in the summer...

Yeah, the compressor is the most expensive part to replace, and if the unit is old its really not worth replacing it,you're better just replacing the whole unit. Are you sure that the compressor is shot? Did someone come out and look at it? Have you considered one of the portable AC units? You could at least cool a couple of rooms, they're around $300 for one. They are on wheels, and there is no installation needed, you just wheel it where you want it.
